- ( 1 cup) Wheat pasta, dry
- ( 2 cup) Milk (Lite 1% fat)

- ( 1 medium) Brown onion, raw and peeled

- ( 1 can) Canned whole tomato in tomato juice, undrained

Ingredients
- ( 400 grams) Lean beef mince
- ( 1 medium) Zucchini, unpeeled
- ( 1 medium) Red capsicum, fresh
- ( 1 cup) Wheat pasta, dry
- ( 2 cup) Milk (Lite 1% fat)
- ( 1 tbsp) Cornstarch

Method
Sauce
- Heat the milk in a saucepan or in the microwave.
- Mix the cornflour with cold water and add to the milk.
- Continue heating the milk until it is thick — about five (5) minutes on the stove. Remove from heat.
Pastitsio
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius (C).
- Add half the salt to a large pot of water and bring to the boil. Cook the pasta, following the instructions on the pasta packet.
- Cut the onion into small cubes. Crush the garlic. Cut the zucchini and capsicum into 2cm pieces.
- To a large pan, add the diced onion and crushed garlic. Cook until the onion is soft and sweet.
- Add the mince to the pan and cook for five (5) minutes.
- Add the zucchini and capsicum to the pan.
- Add the tomato and cook for another 5–8 minutes, or until the tomato sauce thickens.
- Mix half the cooked pasta with the tomato sauce, and the rest into the white sauce.
- Place the tomato mixture into a baking tray. Put the white sauce mixture on top, and then add the cheese.
- Bake at 180 degrees for 30–40 minutes.
